What is VASER liposuction ?

VASER liposuction is an ultrasonic liposuction technology which means it uses ultrasonic energy (high-energy sound waves) to emulsify fat. Emulsification turns fat from a solid form into liquid; the liquefied fat is then aspirated using a suction cannula.

In my experience, this technique is not only more efficient at fat removal than conventional liposuction, but also more selective (i.e. it disrupts fat cells but not blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue), and as a result, it is less traumatic.

I see less swelling, less bruising and less patient discomfort postoperatively. I also see more skin and soft tissue retraction over the long term than is generally produced by conventional liposuction, which can make an enormous difference in the overall postoperative result.

Ultrasonic liposuction is also without question the ideal technology for treatment of densely fibrous areas like the back, the post-tummy tuck abdomen, the breasts (male and female) and previously suctioned areas.

What is Liposelection ?

Liposelection is the method which works wonders and is quite the latest in plastic surgery. Thousands of people go for it and are quite satisfied with the results. An incision is made at the area to be operated, saline with some chemicals is introduced which shrinks the blood vessels and the whole area becomes numb. Ultrasonic waves are emitted which break up the fat globules which can be then suctioned out. The remaining fatty material is absorbed by the body, which leaves the area smooth and normal looking without any ugly loose skin or pouches. Of course the patient and the surgeon should have a detailed discussion on the procedure before the patient undergoes it. He should know the limitations, the risks, and the possible complications, however small they may be.

What is the areas that the Vaser best on?

Vaser can be used all over the body but I have found it works best for three areas.  All of these areas share the characteristic of having dense, tough, fibrous fatty tissue that is hard for other types of liposuction to treat.  The #1 area that I like to use the Vaser is to treat male breasts with Gynecomatia.  #2 is flanks or love handles, especially in thinner patients, men, and Asian women who tend to have more fibrous fat that is difficult to suction with other methods.  Finally, #3 is any area that has previously been treated with any kind of liposuction is best treated the second time with Vaser.  It is very good at dislodging fat from the scar of the initial procedure #4 the buttock  # frank or waist
